The office is home to both our merchandising company and our production company, Matt Murphy Productions, which provides creative, management and financial support to a wide variety of theatrical productions.  The staff has been working together consistently for the past several years, taking pride in not only creating new Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, but servicing them as well.

Matt Murphy (Producer)
Matt is currently producing the new Broadway musical Memphis: The Birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll at the Shubert Theatre.  Matt recently produced the Broadway productions of Thurgood, starring Laurence Fishburne who was nominated for a Tony Award for his stellar performance, and the new play by Michael Jacobs entitled Impressionism, starring Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons.  Matt’s producing debut in New York was the Off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz, which became one of the longest-running Off-Broadway musicals in history during its remarkable 5-year run at New World Stages.  Matt is currently readying two new productions for youth theatre tours beginning in May, 2010:  a musical adaptation of the beloved Berenstain Bears books and an original musical for today’s texting, blogging, Facebooking generation called Virtually Me.

After successfully establishing and managing a popular line of merchandise for the fans of Altar Boyz when it opened in 2005, Matt formed Marquee Merchandise to offer high quality, professional merchandising services to the Broadway and Off-Broadway community at large.  Marquee has grown to become one of the largest theatre merchandising companies in the U.S. by servicing such institutions as Lincoln Center Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre, and award-winning productions like Memphis, In the Heights, South Pacific, The 39 Steps, and STOMP.  Matt’s latest merchandising project, The Broadway Store, is an online shopping center for all things Broadway, www.broadwaystore.com.  As President of Marquee Merchandise, Matt oversees the day-to-day operations of the company while continuing to produce theatre through his production company, Matt Murphy Productions.  For more about Matt Murphy Productions, please visit www.mattmurphyproductions.com.
